Rage Against The Machine Announce Reunion, Tour Dates

Less than 24 hours after My Chemical Romance announced their reunion, another legendary group have returned.

90’s rap rock quartet Rage Against The Machine are back together for a second time. The band consisting of vocalist Zack de la Rocha, guitarist Tom Morello, bassist Tim Commerford, and drummer Brad Wilk, broke the news with a brand new Instagram account posting alleged tour dates over a photo of the protests currently happening in Chile. Check out the dates below.

The reunion was confirmed by the band’s associate Wayne Kamemoto who told Forbes, “The band’s social media is accurate.”

What’s special about the dates is that the final two shows take place in Indio, Calif., where Coachella happens each year. This means that RATM are the first act announced for the festival in 2020.

RATM formed in 1991 and released four albums, their last one, Renegades, being a cover album consisting tracks originally by Bruce Springsteen, Minor Threat, Devo, The Rolling Stones, and Bob Dylan. All were released under Epic Records (Camila Cabello, Future, Lamb Of God.) They first broke up in 2000 before the release of Renegades. RATM then reunited for a performance at Coachella 7 years later before going their separate ways again in 2011 after appearing at their own festival L.A. Rising with Lauryn Hill, Muse, and Rise Against. Wilk confirmed that the 2011 show was their final gig in 2014.

Since their departures, members of RATM went on to form Audioslave, which featured everyone except Zack and had Soundgarden’s Chris Cornell on vocals. Morello also made projects like his solo project The Nightwatchman and the supergroup Street Sweeper Social Club which featured Boots Riley of The Coup. Zack started a solo career and released his latest effort “digging for windows” in 2016. Everyone except Zack then created Prophets Of Rage in 2016 with members of Public Enemy (DJ Lord and  Chuck D) and Cypress Hill’s B-Real, dropping a self-titled album in 2017.
