Lil Lotus Signs With Epitaph Records, Drops New Video

Emo rapper Lil Lotus has signed with the punk rock label Epitaph Records (The All-American Rejects, The Menzingers, Thrice.)

The rapper whose real name is John “Elias” Villagran, broke the news earlier today along with the video for his new track “Never Get Away.”

He first got his start in 2017 with the success of his EP Body Bag. Since then, he’s worked with artists like Cold Hart, smrtdeath, and I Set My Friends On Fire. Lil Lotus has toured with Papa Roach, nothing, nowhere., and Senses Fail.

Brett Gurewitz, CEO of Epitaph and guitarist for punk rock group Bad Religion, was excited about signing the rapper. He told Substream Magazine, “Hip-hop and punk were born around the same time and I’ve been a fan of both genres since the 80s. The music of Lil Lotus brings these beloved countercultures together in an authentic way.”
