Roof Collapses During Morbid Angel Concert

Tragedy has unfolded at a Morbid Angel concert in Illinois.

A Friday night concert in Belvidere, Ill., has been cut short due to massive winds causing the roof of the Apollo Theater to collapse. According to CBS Chicago, a severe storm in the area caused winds to hit up to 90 mph, making the roof collapse to the floor of the venue. Winds also caused the venue’s marquee to collapse. So far, only injuries, not casualties, have been reported at the time of publishing. The show, which was Morbid Angel’s United States Tour Of Terror, featured Revocation, Skeletal Remains, and Crypta.

Morbid Angel released a statement about the incident, writing:

“Tonights show is Canceled due to a Tornado that hit the Venue.

We ask anyone who is still traveling to the venue to please seek shelter and stay safe. We are currently sheltering in place, and want to extend our support and hope that everyone at the show tonight is safe.

Right now our focus is on making sure everyone in the venue tonight is ok and gets home.

– MA”

Footage from inside the venue shows the severity of the damage.

Our hearts go out to those affected by this incident. If you are in the area, avoid the venue at all costs.
