Bamboozle 2023 Is Dead

Only a week before Bamboozle 2023 was to take place, the New Jersey festival is no longer happening.

According to a report from NJ.com, a spokesperson for Atlantic City, where Bamboozle would’ve taken place this year, said the festival failed to meet the deadline to file any final documents, thus their permits were denied. This includes insurance certificates and emergency evacuation and medical plans. The deadline was April 27, as noted by The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Atlantic City Business Administrator Anthony Swan told the Inquirer, “There was an ongoing concern that we were not getting the required documents from festival organizers in a timely manner. We asked for this information months in advance to protect the city and the taxpayers of Atlantic City. The event was fast approaching, and these issues were still unresolved.”

Bamboozle did post a statement online announcing the cancellation. “After extensive discussions, we have made the heartbreaking decision to cancel Bamboozle 2023. An incredible amount of time, dedication, passion and hard work was invested into making this comeback a success. We appreciate everyone who supported this festival. Refunds should be requested at point of purchase.”

Prior to its cancellation, the festival was in deep water with fans, with some requesting refunds due to not bagging top headliners, announcing that New Jersey based post-hardcore band Palisades would perform (which the band quickly debunked,) and some claiming that early bird prices were higher than recent offers. To see a massive list of many blunders this year’s festival did, check out this piece by The Press Of Atlantic City.

Nick Richetti, owner of Canna City Hemp in Statesville, N.C., told The Press on Friday that he’s heard no word from the festival after spending $10,000 for a small vendor booth, hoping he can get a refund. “I have emailed and made phone calls, and not heard anything back from them,” Richetti told the newspaper. “I own one small CBD store in North Carolina and $10,000 will absolutely break me.”

Bamboozle unveiled this year’s lineup back in January, with Trippie Redd, Limp Bizkit, Steve Aoki, Motionless In White, and Bad Omens scheduled to headline. Other acts included The Acacia Strain, Cane Hill, Glitterer, Boys Like Girls, I Set My Friends On Fire, Mayday Parade, The Callous Daoboys, E-Town Concrete, and Hollywood Undead. Check out the festival that never will be below.
