Settle Your Scores Sign With Mutant League Records

Cincinnati easycore five-piece Settle Your Scores have inked a deal with Chicago-based label Mutant League Records (A Better Hand, Rest Easy, Wilmette).

The band announced the news on Tuesday along with a brand new track called “1999”, which is slated to appear on their upcoming third album coming out later this year. The track was produced by Nick Ingram (Convictions, Hawthorne Heights, Like Moths To Flames). The music video is packed full of 90’s nostalgia, featuring Blink-182, Pokémon, Nintendo 64, Bionicle, and Hot Wheels. Check out the music video below.

Formed in 2014, Settle Your Scores have dropped two full-length albums, their latest being Better Luck Tomorrow, released in 2018 via SharpTone Records (Dying Wish, Of Mice & Men, Stepson). SYS have toured and performed with Bilmuri, We Were Sharks, Calling All Captains, Telltale, and Action/Adventure. The band were featured in the 2018 Prenatt’s Picks list alongside Joji, Turnstile, nothing, nowhere., 7 Minute Martians, and Picturesque.

Mike Liorti Announces End Of Rosedale

Mike Liorti Announces End Of Rosedale

Sad news for Rosedale fans.

After 15 years of playing music under the moniker of Rosedale, Mike Liorti, the sole member of the band, announced that Rosedale is ending. “…It is in the best interest of my musical journey (and well being) to put Rosedale to rest and start a new chapter,” the Toronto based musician wrote in a statement from his Tumblr blog. You can read the full statement there.

In his post, Liorti extremely stated that “this is not a re-brand/name change, nor is this me quitting music. And I don’t really wanna talk about what musical ideas I have for the future just yet. There are many options that I need to figure out for myself. But I am finally 100% positive that none of them will be under the name Rosedale. Rosedale will end as Rosedale and I want this announcement to be about Rosedale. The Rosedale songs/releases will rest as Rosedale songs after this tour. They had their time and proudly resonated throughout many amazing places/ears.” Liorti listed several reasons as to why Rosedale is ending, such as the “unoriginal name” (“the origin of the name Rosedale is nothing original; Four friends walked down a street ‘ROSEDALE AVE.’ that leads to the music store- thought it sounded cooler than their current band name”,) what does the name actually mean (“Is it a band? Is it just Mike? Why is it just Mike? Is Mike’s last name Rosedale?”), counter-productive shows (he got booed off stage after playing two songs when he opened for Eve 6 in Albuquerque and blew out his voice in front of 200+ people in Toronto,) no more room for old and new songs (“I have over 200 minutes of released Rosedale material!”), and that it was time for a restart (“the bigger the reset, the bigger the results“).

Throughout his time as Rosedale, Liorti has done tours and shows with bands like I Set My Friends On Fire, A Better Hand, Survay Says!, Carousel Kings, and Bailey Zindel of Hi, Mom! He also played for a few dates on the Ernie Ball Stage at the Vans Warped Tour in 2012 along with Born Of Osiris, Chunk! No, Captain Chunk!, and You Me At Six.
