New Go Radio Content Coming Soon, According To Frontman

It’s been a minute indeed.

A half hour ago at the time of publication, Go Radio frontman Jason Lancaster has returned to Facebook for the first time since January 2021. And one of the first things fans asked in his comeback post was if new Go Radio content was coming in the foreseeable future. To the shock of many, Lancaster simply replied, “We got some…” Could it be a new song, or even a new album? Only time will tell.

The Tallahassee-based alt-rock/pop punk act went dormant in 2013 after completing their second Vans Warped Tour that summer. Their last album was 2012’s Close The Distance. Things for the band were quiet until 2019 when the band announced a reunion and dropped a brand new song called “Say It Again” which came out as part of Fearless Records’s (Chunk! No, Captain Chunk!, Locket, Until I Wake) 25th Anniversary 7″ Series. In 2020, they dropped their newest single “So Love”. Listen to that track below.

Chunk! No, Captain Chunk! Announce First Album In Six Years

Hey dudes are you ready to?

French easycore titans Chunk! No, Captain Chunk! have finally dropped some new material. The band released their first new track since reuniting back on Christmas Day 2019, “Bitter”. The song comes from their long awaited and highly anticipated fourth studio album Gone Are The Good Days, coming out July 30 on Fearless Records (American Teeth, Grayscale, My Kid Brother). Listen to it below.

“Bitter” is the second song to come off of Gone Are The Good Days, as the track listing has unveiled that “Blame It On This Song” will be on the record. That song was released as a throwaway single back in 2016, shortly before the group went on hiatus. Here’s that song below.

“Chunk is back – finally,” vocalist Bertrand Poncet said in a press release. “Our last album came out six years ago. Since then, we’ve grown so much as individuals and as a band. We have had a lot more life experience, as humans and as musicians, to draw from. In addition to producing this record ourselves, we experimented with our songwriting approach and have tried new things that we cannot wait for you to hear. Don’t worry. It still has all the old Chunk feels that you know and love – with a fresh new sound that will knock you off your feet.”

Below is the track listing and the official artwork for Gone Are The Good Days. The cover features the poster from their Truffle Shuffle Tour, which took place in 2013 featuring State Champs, Coutnerparts, and Living With Lions.

The Most Anticipated Albums Of 2021 (Part One)

While 2020 was shit, the albums we got that year were pretty tight. But some records were delayed for the sole purpose of releasing them when touring was given the “OK” to. As of now, touring is still off limits, but that won’t stop some bands from dropping new music this year.

In 2021, we’re getting several great albums some several great bands and artists, but out of all the albums that are coming out this year, these are the ones you need to keep your eyes on. Here are the most anticipated albums of 2021, in no particular order.

Every Time I Die

Album: TBA

Release Date: TBA (Epitaph)

Five years. That’s how long it’s been since Every Time I Die have dropped a new album. Low Teens brought in a ton of fans, and those fans are dying to hear some new material. While we did get teasers of new songs during their live shows in 2019, and a snippet on Instagram, no full tracks were ever released yet. That was until late last year when ETID gifted those who bought tickets to their Christmas telethon event on December 19 a download of “AWOL”. And then they released A Colossal Wreck” and “Desperate Pleasures” on all streaming services. So when does album #9 drop? Who knows.

’68

Album: Give One, Take One (Cooking Vinyl)

Release Date: March 26

Originally intended to drop last spring, noise-rock duo ’68 pushed this record back a full year and gave their fans a killer EP titled Love Is Ain’t Dead., produced by Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, The Hold Steady, Rush). Now we’re only weeks away from vocalist/guitarist Josh Scogin and drummer Nikko Yamada’s third album (their first with Yamada on the kit). “I’m so proud of this album and humbled by the journey that it took to get here. And if I’m honest, the vast majority of my thoughts are circled around the hope that we will be able to perform these songs live one day soon,” Scogin said in a press statement.

3OH!3

Album: TBA (Photo Finish)

Release Date: TBD

No one was expecting a new album from Warped Tour crunk faves 3OH!3, but damn we need it. The Boulder duo announced last year that they were signing with the label that made them them, Photo Finish Records (guardin, Handsome Ghost, SHAED) and gave fans a taste of their new record by releasing their first music in four years, “LONELY MACHINES” featuring 100 gecs. Spite

Album: TBA (Self-Released)

Release Date: TBD

While no word yet has come out on when Bay Area metal legion Spite will drop their third album, we do know that they are working on it. Back in November, the band posted an interesting message on social media, showing a building with cars parked outside. Some fans are assuming from the photo that they’re currently working on new material. We’ll just have to wait and see.

Citizen

Album: Life In Your Glass World (Run For Cover)

Release Date: March 26

Bet you weren’t expecting this sound. On Citizen’s fourth outing, the emo band have thrown away their old sound for something more akin to indie-rock. “I don’t have a lot of regret but there have definitely been times when we felt powerless during the band’s existence,” guitarist Nick Hamm said to Kerrang!. “This time we really owned every part of the process. It’s easy to feel like you’re on autopilot when you’re in a band, but that’s not a good place to be this far into our existence. We consciously knew we wanted to break free.”And after hearing Life In Your Glass World‘s debut single “I Want To Kill You”, this new style is very welcoming.

Rob Zombie on His Vegan Lifestyle

Rob Zombie

Album: The Lunar Injection Kool Aid Eclipse Conspiracy (Nuclear Blast)

Release Date: March 12

On his first album with Nuclear Blast (The Damned Things, Ghost Bath, Meshuggah), singer-songwriter/filmmaker/voice actor Rob Zombie shows us that if it isn’t broken, don’t try fixing it. To quote Blabbermouth.net, The Lunar Injection Kool Aid Eclipse Conspiracy “is a classic Zombie album to its core, with high-energy rages like “The Eternal Struggles Of The Howling Man” and “Get Loose” to heavy-groove thumpers like “Shadow Of The Cemetery Man” and “Shake Your Ass-Smoke Your Grass”.” So yeah, it’s a damn good time.

Look out for part two which will come out soon!

Motion City Soundtrack, 3OH!3, Sum 41, More To Play Slam Dunk Festival 2021

Motion City Soundtrack, 3OH!3, Sum 41, More To Play Slam Dunk Festival 2021

While COVID ruined both attempts for a Slam Dunk this year, the British festival are hoping that nothing dampens their 15th anniversary.

“We are very pleased to confirm the final list of artists who were due to play SDF20 and will be returning to play SDF21,” the festival wrote in a statement “As the vast majority of you have kept hold of your tickets for next year it seemed only right to try to bring back as many SDF20 artists as we could. If an artists was due to play 2020 and they are not on the poster, this means they are unfortunately not able to play at SDF21. We will be announcing new artists in the coming months.”

The bands announced for SD21 so far include previous 2020 headliners Sum 41 and Don Broco, along with Motion City Soundtrack, We Are The In Crowd, 3OH!3, Bury Tomorrow, I Am The Avalanche, Dance Gavin Dance, Pennywise, A, Chunk! No, Captain Chunk!, and Yours Truly. Check out the current lineup below.

Artists returning from 2020 include Movements, Comeback Kid, Face To Face, Zebrahead, and Doll Skin.

However, not everyone scheduled for SD20 will be attending next year’s festivities. As Slam Dunk stated earlier, “If an artists was due to play 2020 and they are not on the poster, this means they are unfortunately not able to play at SDF21.” The bands and artists currently not on the bill are Bayside, Bedouin Soundclash, Derek Sanders of Mayday Parade, Elder Brother, Fit For A King, The Movielife, Polaris, Refused, The Suicide Machines, Vinnie Caruana of The Movielife and I Am The Avalanche, and We Came As Romans.

Tickets are still available to purchase. Slam Dunk also said that if you have a ticket for SD20, it will be valid for SD21. “Just to confirm SDF20 ticket orders remain valid for SDF21, your ticket provider will send your ticket closer to the event. If you have any questions about tickets please contact customer services of your ticket provider (See tickets if you followed the links on our website) There are a limited number of tickets remaining at SDF20 prices.”

Slam Dunk 2021 will be held from Saturday, May 29, at Temple Newsam in Leeds, and Sunday, May 30, in Hatfield Park in Hatfield.
