Hotel Books Announce New Album “Equivalency II: Everything We Left Out”

Spoken word artist Cam Smith aka Hotel Books is dropping his fourth album (and second album this year) Equivalency II: Everything We Left Out.

The album which is a sequel to 2017’s Equivalency comes out November 1 via InVogue Records (Assuming We Survive, Chase Huglin, FFN). Equivalency II follows I’ll Leave The Lights On Just In Case, released back in February of this year.

Smith made a post explaining the new album. Earlier this year, his mom suffered a heart attack two days after the record dropped on Valentine’s Day. Four days later, she passed away. “Due to this, and to honor her, I have decided it’s time to take more independence in my life, and part of that is has come in the form of sharing I music I wrote that I didn’t get to share,” he wrote. “I want [Equivalency II: Everything We Left Out] to be the missing pieces to an ongoing story.”

The first single “I Hope I’m Not Wrong” will be hitting digital service providers on October 11. You can get early access to the single now by pre-ordering the new album here.

“We’ve been developing Hotel Books now for the past 5 years and this collection of songs & poems is by far one of my favorite collections of Cam’s work,” InVogue Records owner Nick Moore said. “He really poured his heart and soul into these tracks and it’s best to listen to this album straight through with the lyrics. Hotel Books is a very special talent and there isn’t anyone out there like them.”
