Sianvar Announce Hiatus

Sianvar Announce Hiatus

Progressive rock supergroup Sianvar are going on a hiatus.

The group which features members of Hail The Sun, Dance Gavin Dance, Stolas, and Eidola, posted a statement saying that while they’re going away for a while, it does not mean the end for the supergroup. In the statement, the band wrote:

“Dear listener,

All Sianvar music releases & activities have been postponed indefinitely. This isn’t a permanent goodbye, though it could be a while before we meet again.

Thank you for the love. “

Formed in 2013, the band originally consisted of Dance Gavin Dance’s Will Swan, Hail The Sun’s Donovan Melero, Stolas’s Sergio Medina, and A Lot Like Birds’s Michael Littlefield and Joseph Arrington. Sianvar released one album, 2016’s Stay Lost, on Swan’s record label Blue Swan Records (Eidola, Royal Coda, Wolf & Bear). They’ve toured with I See Stars, Strawberry Girls, and Artifex Pereo. The band were working on their sophomore album prior to their break, which was produced by Kris Crummett (Alesana, Cane Hill, Light Up The Sky).

During their break, Swan will continue his duties with Dance Gavin Dance and SECRETBAND, Joseph Arrington is currently working in Royal Coda, Donovan Melero’s band Hail The Sun dropped their latest album Mental Knife in 2018 via Equal Vision Records (All Get Out, Hopesfall ,Vagrants), and Sergio Medina is still in his new band Eidola, which he joined back in 2017.

The Most Anticipated Albums Of 2019 (Part One)

The Most Anticipated Albums Of 2019 (Part One)

New year means new albums from our favorite artists. In 2019, we’re getting several great albums, but out of all the albums that are coming out this year, these are the ones you need to keep your eyes on. Here are the most anticipated albums of 2019 so far.

Fever333.jpgFever 333

Album: Strength In Numb333rs (Roadrunner Records)

Release Date: 1/18

Ever since the rapcore trio Fever 333 gave us their debut EP Made an America last March, fans have been eagerly anticipating their full-length debut. Blending in elements from vocalist Jason Butler’s old band letlive. with Rage Against The Machine, their upcoming full-length Strength In Numb333rs (which drops tomorrow) will show that they are here to spread their message about politics while throwing down. Move aside, Prophets Of Rage.

Masked Intruder

Album: III (Pure Noise Records)

Release Date: 3/1

It feels like forever since we’ve heard from our favorite felons. But now they’re here to steal your hearts, and your wallets. III features the same style we’ve grown to love from this quartet of criminals, catchy love songs that sound like the Ramones and The Queers combined. Their first proper full-length on Pure Noise Records (Boston Manor, Four Year Strong, Youth Fountain) comes out in early March.

PUP

Album: Morbid Stuff (Rise Records)

Release Date: 4/5

PUP, Canada’s favorite punk band, are back with their follow up to 2016’s The Dream Is Over. They’ve kept themselves busy ever since, appearing in the dating sim Dream Daddy: A Dad Dating Simulation published by Game Grumps in 2017 and touring with The Menzingers, DZ Deathrays, and Frank Turner. The raw energy found on their previous album radiates hard on their upcoming album Morbid Stuff, their first album while under Rise Records (blessthefall, Light Up The Sky, Mayday Parade), coming out in early April.

Small Talks

Album: A Conversation Between Us (Common Ground Records)

Release Date: 2/1

February is gonna be a cold month, but South Carolina based pop-rock act Small Talks are here to warm you up with sweet, warm melodies on their new album A Conversation Between Us. From the songs that have been released so far like “Oceans” and “Nicotine & Tangerines”, the band’s proper full-length will be the album that you should not ignore.

Lana Del Rey

Album: Norman Fucking Rockwell (Interscope/Polydor)

Release Date: March

We’ve heard a lot from Lana Del Rey’s upcoming record Norman Fucking Rockwell so far. Tracks like the folky psychedelic “Mariners Apartment Complex”, her longest track to date “Venice Bitch” and her latest one “Hope Is a Dangerous Thing for a Woman like Me to Have – but I Have It” have been keeping us excited for when the album supposedly drops in March. The album is produced by fun.’s Jack Antonoff (Lorde, St. Vincent, Taylor Swift).

emarosa.jpg

Emarosa

Album: Peach Club (Hopeless Records)

Release Date: 2/8

Now this is a change that I can work with. Ditching their post-hardcore style for something more poppier, Kentucky’s Emarosa are stepping into the pop spotlight with their newest album Peach Club. Their current singles “Don’t Cry” and “Given’ Up” are catchy as hell and have the band borrowing elements from Maroon 5, The 1975, and Don Broco. February 8 can’t come sooner.

The Maine

Album: You Are Ok (8123)

Release Date: 3/29

When The Maine said they were working with producer Matt Squire (3OH!3, All Time Low, The Receiving End Of Sirens) back in October, fans got excited. Once we heard the first track from their upcoming seventh record You Are Ok, “Numb Without You”, fans could tell they were in for something brand new from the Arizonan rock group. Like vocalist John O’Callaghan put it, “This is us in our most ambitious form to date. This is us at breakneck speed. This is us is a television show starring Mandy Moore.” It’s a whole new era for The Maine, and I hope it lasts forever.

American Football

Album: American Football (Polyvinyl)

Release Date: 3/22

Just be glad we don’t have to wait 17 years for the next American Football album. When the legendary emo quartet reunited in 2014, fans were delighted with the announcement of their first album since their 1999 debut. Fast forward to 2016 and we get their sophomore album. Fast forward again to 2019 and we’re getting their third self-titled record in March. With appearances from people like Paramore’s Hayley Williams, Land Of Talk’s Elizabeth Powell, and Slowdive’s Rachel Goswell, we might be getting the best emo record of 2019.

Say Anything

Album: Oliver Appropriate (Dine Alone Records)

Release Date: 1/25

We are a week away from the final Say Anything album. Oliver Appropriate is the follow-up to the band’s lackluster album I Don’t Think It Is, and hopefully this album goes out with a roar than a whimper. So far we’ve been given acoustic songs that have a more personal, raw feeling than the previous record. All I can say is goodbye Max Bemis, hope you find peace with your inner demons.

Gerard_Way_Big_Day_Out_2012_2

Gerard Way

Album: TBA (Reprise Records)

Release Date: TBA

Ok, nothing’s been confirmed about a new Gerard Way album. But with him releasing three songs in the span of three months late last year, we can only dream that there might be a follow-up to his debut solo record Hesitant Alien coming out later in 2019. Let’s just hope that there’s more than just those three songs coming soon.

Part two will come out next week.

The Devil Wears Prada Sign To Solid State Records

The Devil Wears Prada Sign To Solid State Records

Christian metalcore legends The Devil Wears Prada have found a new label for their music: Solid State Records (Fit For A King, Phinehas, Silent Planet).

TDWP announced the news earlier today via Revolver Magazine. The band said in the video that the label was a major influence for them when they were growing up, citing bands like Underoath, As Cities Burn, and mewithoutYou. Also in the video TDWP discussed their upcoming ten year anniversary tour for With Roots Above And Branches Below, which has songs like “Sassafras”, “Danger: Wildman”, and “Louder Than Thunder”. Fit For A King and ’68 will be opening acts on the tour.

The band first signed to Rise Records (Arlington, Cane Hill, Light Up The Sky) before eventually signing to now defunct label Ferret Records (Boys Night Out, Every Time I Die, LoveHateHero) and releasing one album with Roadrunner Records (The Amity Affliction,  King 810, Slipknot) before eventually resigning back to Rise to drop their current album, 2016’s Transit Blues.
