The Devil Wears Prada Sign To Solid State Records

The Devil Wears Prada Sign To Solid State Records

Christian metalcore legends The Devil Wears Prada have found a new label for their music: Solid State Records (Fit For A King, Phinehas, Silent Planet).

TDWP announced the news earlier today via Revolver Magazine. The band said in the video that the label was a major influence for them when they were growing up, citing bands like Underoath, As Cities Burn, and mewithoutYou. Also in the video TDWP discussed their upcoming ten year anniversary tour for With Roots Above And Branches Below, which has songs like “Sassafras”, “Danger: Wildman”, and “Louder Than Thunder”. Fit For A King and ’68 will be opening acts on the tour.

The band first signed to Rise Records (Arlington, Cane Hill, Light Up The Sky) before eventually signing to now defunct label Ferret Records (Boys Night Out, Every Time I Die, LoveHateHero) and releasing one album with Roadrunner Records (The Amity Affliction,  King 810, Slipknot) before eventually resigning back to Rise to drop their current album, 2016’s Transit Blues.

Final Vans Warped Tour Lineup Announced

Final Vans Warped Tour Lineup Announced

Thursday night brought us the moment many of us have been waiting for: the final lineup announcement of the Vans Warped Tour.

The 24th annual punk rock traveling festival will make its final cross country run later this summer. The tour starts June 21st in Pomona, Calif. and ends August 5th in West Palm Beach, Fla. Darien Lake’s date this year is near the end of this year’s tour, being Thursday, July 25th.

I was expecting some big names to appear since it is the final run of the tour and boy was I right. Bands who haven’t appeared in years will make their return on this year’s tour, including All Time Low, Sum 41, Underoath, Taking Back Sunday, and August Burns Red. But the only downside is that some of these big names will only play for a few dates this summer (for example: Sum 41 is only playing July 17th in Toronto.)

Some fresh new faces will also appear this year. British folk artist Frank Turner, pop-punkers Sleep On It, and Baltimorean hardcore act Sharptooth will appear along with veterans like horrorcore rap duo Twiztid, Texas based pop-punk band Bowling For Soup, and British band As It Is.

The official website says that additional acts will be added later. General tickets will go on sale March 8th.
