Kaonashi Sign To Equal Vision Records, Drop New Music Video

Emo mathcore group Kaonashi are the newest band added to Equal Vision Records (Greyhaven, Never Loved, Sleep On It), and they’re celebrating with a music video.

The Philly quintet announced the news earlier today, thanking anyone who believed in them on their journey. They also unveiled the video for their song “My 5-Year Plan”, which you can watch here.

Kaonashi formed in 2012 and are named after the character No-Face from the beloved movie Spirited Away. They dropped their latest EP Why Did You Do It?, which is considered a “rollercoaster ride across seven tracks ranging from downright brutal riffs to serene, melodic moments,” last year. The band have shared stages with acts like For The Fallen Dreams, I Set My Friends On Fire, Between The Buried And Me, Stick To Your Guns, and Vanna. They just appeared at This Is Hardcore Fest last Saturday along with Saves The Day, Hoods, and Agnostic Front.

Next month, Kaonashi will be touring with The Last Ten Seconds Of Life and are appearing at iMatter Festival with Beartooth, I See Stars, and Left Behind.

Pure Noise Records Signs Two Bands In Two Days

Pure Noise Records Signs Two Bands In Two Days

Popular indie record label Pure Noise Records have signed two incredible artists in the span of two days.

Joining alongside acts like Four Year Strong, Hawthorne Heights, Masked Intruder, The Story So Far, and Boston Manor, are metallic straight edge group Inclination and punk rock sestet Graduating Life. Let’s get to know these bands.

Hailing from Louisville, Ky., Inclination are, as their guiarist Isaac Hale puts it, “Inclination is a straight edge hardcore band and we will always be a straight edge hardcore band. We take influence from where we come from. But also from various bands around from the 90’s to the early/mid 2000’s. We aren’t exactly replicating anything. There’s more to Inclination than trying to recreate a sound or image from a certain time period. The culmination of all the things we take influence from combined with where we are from is what makes us who we are.” The hardcore quartet have played festivals with Culture Abuse, Year Of The Knife, and will play alongside Power Trip at Sound And Fury in Los Angeles this July, and have done shows with Greyhaven, Cro-Mags, and SeeYouSpaceCowboy. Their EP When Fear Turns To Confidence comes out April 26.

Graduating Life are a sestet fronted by Bart Thompson, a member of Mom Jeans. and another Pure Noise signed act Just Friends. Created back in 2017, Graduating Life began as a solo project for Thompson before eventually recruiting Eric Butler on guitar, Austin Carango on drums, and fellow Just Friends members Sam Kless on bass, Chris Palowitch on keys and trombone, and Ryan Ellery on guitar. The group released their latest album Grad Life back in September.

Pre-orders for physical copies of Graduating Life and Inclination‘s latest albums are available now via Pure Noise Records.
