My Chemical Romance, Living Colour, Thursday, More Announced For Riot Fest 2021

Before you ask, yeah, it’s delayed. What did you expect from the Year of Corona?

While we won’t be having a Riot Fest this year, the festival did announce that it will be returning stronger next year with a killer lineup. And we already got the first wave of bands.

Previously announced 2020 headliner My Chemical Romance will be headlining next year’s event alongside The Smashing Pumpkins, Run The Jewels, and Pixies. Others scheduled for 2021 include Living Colour, Sublime With Rome, Bayside, The All-American Rejects, Fucked Up, Thursday, L7, Fishbone, Saves The Day, and Meet Me @ The Altar. If you have a ticket for Riot Fest 2020, it will be honored next year. If you need a refund, do so via Tixel by July 16, 2020. Didn’t get a ticket yet when 2020 wasn’t cancelled yet? You can buy one here.

Riot Fest 2021 will take place September 17 – 19, 2021, at Douglas Park in Chicago. A special Thursday Preview Party happens on September 16 featuring surprise sets from mystery bands and much more.

The festival first took place in 2005 and has been running on strong until COVID-19 cancelled 2020’s festivities. Artists who’ve played in the past include Dead Kennedys, Naked Raygun, Stiff Little Fingers, Jay Reatard, The Dead Milkmen, fun., Weezer, Chiodos, Joan Jett And The Blackhearts, The World Is A Beautiful Place & I Am No Longer Afraid To Die, Manchester Orchestra, Paramore, Dropkick Murphys, and Village People.

We got more bands!

Earlier today, The Fest added more bands to their already incredible lineup. Now on the bill for this year include Masked Intruder, The World Is A Beautiful Place & I Am No Longer Afraid To Die, Such Gold, Grade, Stiff Little Fingers, American Steel, A Wilhelm Scream, Skatune Network, The Dollyrots, and Against Me!, who’ll play four classic albums (Transgender Dysphoria Blues, White Crosses, New Wave, and Searching For A Former Clarity) in full over the span of two nights. 

Others appearing at The Fest 18 are Elway, Origami Angel, The Randy Savages, We Were Sharks, Dowsing, The Jukebox Romantics, Mark Rose of Spitalfield, Bike Tuff, The Casket Lottery, and Russian Girlfriends.

Back in April, the first artists for The Fest 18 were announced, featuring Planes Mistaken For Stars, Jawbreaker, Lee Bains III + The Glory Fires, Dag Nasty, Less Than Jake, AJJ, Überyou, Stanis, The Copyrights, and Dikembe.

The Fest 18 takes place in Gainesville, Fla., from November 1-3.
