Record Store Day 2020 Postponed Due To Coronavirus

Record Store Day 2020 Postponed Due To Coronavirus

First the NBA, then Coachella, and now this?

Because of major health concerns and the lingering fear of the coronavirus here in the United States, several music based events, whether it be tours or even festivals, have been postponed. Today we have learned that Record Store Day will be postponed for only two months. Originally scheduled for Saturday, April 18, the beloved event will now take place Saturday, June 20. This is the first time ever that the event will be rescheduled and also the first RSD to be held in June.

“RSD is worldwide and celebrates a record store’s place in their community,” organizers wrote on Twitter. “As good citizens of those communities we want everyone to be safe, healthy and feel comfortable coming to the party.”

The event is joining several other music based events either cancelled or postponed due to the virus, which so far has killed over 40 people here in the United States.

Earlier this year, Weezer dropped their cover of the classic Toto song “Africa” due to social media push. 2. Various Artists – Stay Awake: Various Interpretations Of Music From Vintage Disney Films (3500 copies)

Wanna hear Sinéad O’Connor, The Replacements, Suzanne Vega, Ringo Starr, and Los Lobos cover classic Disney songs? Originally released back in 1988, this tribute album features various artists playing Disney songs their own way. The two LP vinyl features the songs in greater fidelity per side, and includes the CD-only track “Dumbo & Timothy” from Dumbo for the first time on vinyl. Songs from movies like Peter Pan, Melody Time, Snow White And The Seven Dwarves, 101 Dalmatians, and Babes In Toyland, also appear on the album.
