Tame Impala Drop New Song, Album Details

After teasing us last week with the name of their new album, psychedelic rock act Tame Impala have more info to give as well as a new song.

The new song is called “It Might Be Time” and is the second song to come off Tame Impala’s long-awaited fourth album The Slow Rush. Kevin Parker, the man behind Tame Impala, also revealed that The Slow Rush will come out February 14 on Interscope Records (Lana Del Rey, Sir Sly, Yungblud). The album is a follow-up to 2015’s Currents.

Earlier this year, Tame Impala dropped two new songs “Patience” and “Borderline.” Parker revealed that “Patience” will not appear on the new album. He also said that the album will contain 12 songs, with “Borderline” and “It Might Be Time” being two of those.

It’s that time of year again.

Popular music festival Lollapalooza have unveiled the artists set to play this year in Chicago. And while the festival might be steering clear of its rock roots, it does have an interesting lineup for this year.

Headlining the four-day event will be pop singer Ariana Grande, rapper Childish Gambino, Ohio alt-rap duo twenty one pilots, and rock band The Strokes. Others set to perform include Bring Me The Horizon, Against The Current, Joji, Ghostemane, nothing,nowhere., AJR, Bad Suns, Hozier, (Sandy) Alex G, Japanese Breakfast, Chevelle, Lil Wayne, Tame Impala, Slenderbodies, Beach Bunny, Diesel (Shaquille O’Neal), Hobo Johnson & The LoveMakers, Fitz And The Tantrums, Death Cab For Cutie, and Tenacious D, just to name a few. Created back in 1991, Lollapalloza originally was Jane’s Addiction’s farewell tour. The festival ran until 1997 and came back in 2003. 2004’s festival was cancelled but it came back annually in 2005. Artists who’ve played the festival in the past include Body Count, Soundgarden, Rage Against The Machine, Green Day, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, 311, Snoop Dogg, Incubus, …And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead, Panic! At The Disco, Daft Punk, Nine Inch Nails, Kesha, AFI, Eminem, Bloc Party, Vampire Weekend, Portugal. The Man, Brand New, Die Antwoord, Machine Gun Kelly, and Bruno Mars.

Mannequin Pussy Sign To Epitaph Records

Philly punk rock quartet Mannequin Pussy are moving up in the music world, signing to the popular independent punk label Epitaph Records (Bad Suns, Quicksand, Too Close To Touch).

The band made a post announcing their signing. “We can FINALLY announce that yes, we finished our new album and it will be coming out on Epitaph Records 💗💗💗 y’all don’t know how hard I am happy crying right now, it’s been a wild two years. Can’t wait for you all to hear it,” MP wrote.

Mannequin Pussy formed in 2013 and have released two albums with Tiny Engines (awakebutstillinbed, The Hotelier, Signals Midwest), their latest being 2016’s Romantic. The band have toured with Slothrust, AJJ, Turnover, Japanese Breakfast, and Cherry Glazerr, and have done shows with The Menzingers, Sports, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, RIVIR, and Collen Green. The band have played festivals such as Pouzza in 2017 (Bad Cop / Bad Cop, Lagwagon, Red City Radio), Made In America in 2017 (The Chainsmokers, Marshmello, Run The Jewels), Voodoo Music + Arts Experience in 2017 (Cold War Kids, Foo Fighters, LCD Soundsystem), Desert Daze in 2018 (Death Grips, Shannon And The Clams, Tame Impala), and Riot Fest in 2018 (Beck, Direct Hit!, The Front Bottoms).

As stated in their post, their third album will be coming out soon. No release date has been posted.

Friday was the official announcement of the tenth annual Boston Calling Music Festival in Boston, Mass. The three day festival runs from Friday, May 24 to Sunday, May 26, and features a lineup of bands from a multitude of genres.

Headlining the festival include alternative rap duo twenty one pilots, rapper Travis Scott, and Australian psychedelic rock group Tame Impala. Others performing over the course of the weekend include ODEZA, Hozier, Anderson .Paak And The Free Nationals, Superorganism, Greta Van Fleet, Logic, Denzel Curry, Turnstile, Lord Huron, and Cautious Clay.
