Ariana Grande, CHON, Turnstile, More To Play Coachella

Today the 20th Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival announced this year’s lineup, packed with artists and musicians of multiple genres. Genres like Latin (Bad Bunny, Mon Laferte, Rosalía), alternative (The 1975, CHVRCHES, Weezer), rap (Playboi Carti, Jaden Smith, YG), EDM (Aphex Twin, Diplo, Ross From Friends), pop (BLACKPINK, Billie EIlish, Jain), R&B (Khalid Ella Mai, Solange), and others, will appear at the two weekend festival.

Headlining this year’s festival are rapper Childish Gambino, Australian psychedelic rock group Tame Impala, and pop star Ariana Grande. Gambino will headline Friday, April 12 and 19, TI will headline Saturday, April 13 and 20, and Grande will headline Sunday, April 14 and 21. Other bands that will appear during the weekends are Turnstile, King Princess, JPEGMAFIA, The Frights, Kero Kero Bonito, Mac DeMarco, Sabrina Claudio, Turnover, CHON, Superorganism, Kaytranada, boy pablo, Soccer Mommy, Alice Merton, and 070 Shake.

Kanye West was apparently supposed to headline one of the days, but pulled out at the last minute. The 40×60 stages were apparently “artistically limiting,” a source told TMZ. “These 40×60 stages are so archaic. It’s the same type of stage on which Shakespeare’s works were performed hundreds of years ago.”

Another interesting fact about today is the mysterious group Gucci Gang. Named after the song by rapper Lil Pump, no one has heard about the group until today. When Coachella’s website showed a picture of Gucci Gang, the image was of Atlanta based rapper Gucci Mane. Some thought it was a typo, but it wasn’t. Turns out it’s a supergroup made up of Mane, Pump, and Chicago rapper Smokepurpp.

Presale tickets go on sale Friday at 11 a.m. Festival passes can be purchased right here.

Milestones To Break Up Next Year, Announce Farewell Shows

Milestones To Break Up Next Year, Announce Farewell Shows

After being a band for nearly five years, British pop-punk act Milestones will be breaking up early next year.

The Manchester, UK, band announced earlier today that they will be disbanding following farewell shows in January. In a post made on Facebook, the band said, “breaking up as a band has been a reality for a long time. Some of us would like to pursuit new dreams, others would just like a break from this for a while. Either way, this was a joint decision that we feel was the right move for us as human beings and as professionals. We value our mental health and professional integrity at absolute paramount so this is something we all unanimously decided was the only step forward.”

Milestones also revealed that they will do two farewell shows in January with special guests Luke Rainsford and SHADED. The shows will take place January 18 in London at Thousand Island and January 19 in Manchester at Night People. Tickets go on sale on Halloween.

Formed in 2014, the group started playing shows throughout the UK, gaining attention from American record label Fearless Records (Grayscale, Ice Nine Kills, Wage War) who signed the band in 2016. The band put out an EP in 2016, Equal Measures, and released their only full-length earlier this year called Red Lights. Milestones are known for their songs like “Bittersweetheart”, “Paranoid”, and “Call Me Disaster”, their most well-known track.

Milestones have toured with bands like Mayday Parade, Broadside, Hawthorne Heights, Simple Plan, and WSTR, and have played festivals such as  Slam Dunk Festival in 2018 (Every Time I Die, Jimmy Eat World, PVRIS), So What?! Music Festival in 2016 (Capstan, Knuckle Puck, The Story So Far), and Fury Fest in 2015 (Boston Manor, Motion City Soundtrack, ROAM). They also appeared on last year’s Prenatt’s Picks list with acts like Microwave, Julien Baker, and CHON.

From First To Last Are Dropping A New Song Today

Yes you’ve read that right.

Emo legends From First To Last are apparently releasing a new free single later today called “Surrender”. This will be the band’s first new song since last year’s “Make War“.

Sonny Moore, aka Skrillex, tweeted earlier, “I don’t wanna make a big deal about it but i made a new song with my old band and we decided to give it away for free in a few hours.” He then posted a photo showing purple lipstick in a purple background, possibly the single’s artwork.

No word has been announced as to what time the song will come out, but it will be available through Skrillex’s record label OWSLA (Barely Alive, Snails, What So Not) and Sumerian Records (Asking Alexandria, CHON, Stray From The Path).

This article will be updated once the single is out.

UPDATE: The song has been officially released on From First To Last’s Soundcloud account. “Surrender” can be listened to here.
